Canadian Friends of Finland Education Foundation presents Saturday, December 6, 2014 7-10 pm.
PROGRAM: 7 pm. Conversation, drinks (cash bar) and an array of Finnish finger foods (including piirakka). 7:55 pm Bar closes. 8 pm Piano performance by Peter Longworth. Peter has been on the staff of the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto since 1991. He is a teacher, performer and recording artist. We look forward to his rendition of Finlandia. 8:30 pm Hilkka Davidson, Ed.D., will continue our Unique Lives series. She was born near Tampere in Finland and trained as a nurse in England. As of 1980, she taught sociology and clinical nursing in Canada for 30 years. She earned her doctorate in 1997. She and her husband Derek (a medical doctor) continue to do medical volunteer work in developing countries. 9:00 pm Bar reopens. 10:00 pm Bar closes. Take this opportunity to celebrate the 97th year of Finnish Independence. Please note, because of space limitations, this event will be limited to 70 people.Cost: $30.00 (includes food)
