8:00 pm Peter Auvinen (Featured Speaker) Honorary Consul of Finland in Toronto 

Originally from Sudbury, Peter Auvinen is very familiar with the Finnish immigrant experience in Canada. His grandparents came from Finland, settling in Northern Ontario like so many other Finns in the early part of the 1900s. Mr Auvinen is active in the local Finnish community as a long time member of the Canadian Friends of Finland and the Canada-Finland Chamber of Commerce. He is a partner and Chairman of Miller Thomson LLP in Toronto, where he leads the Nordic Practice Group, specializing in commercial litigation and commercial insolvency.
