Devoted to the promotion of friendship, understanding and cooperation between the peoples of Canada and Finland.
Peter Auvinen is a senior partner in the Toronto Office of Miller Thomson LLP and practises commercial litigation in the area of insolvency, bankruptcy and restructuring. He has extensive trial experience and has appeared in all levels of courts in Ontario. As a leader of the Nordic Practice Group, Peter travels regularly to the Nordic countries to meet with clients and provides personalized legal services to them. He represents a number of Finnish corporations doing business in Canada and promotes bilateral trade and investment between Canada and Finland. Peter is a long-serving member of Miller Thomson’s Executive Committee and a member of several professional associations. Born and raised in Sudbury, Peter attended law school at the University of Western Ontario, graduating in 1986 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1988. He has been actively involved in the Finnish community for several years. Peter has been a director of the Canada Finland Chamber of Commerce for many years, previously served as the President and currently is the Vice President of the Chamber. He is also a member of the Canadian Friends of Finland.
7:00 P.M. Agenda for the Annual General Meeting as stipulated in the By-Laws
The CFF Board is bringing forth two motions for a vote by the AGM:
Motion 1: Amend the current CFF By-Laws to reduce the quorum for meetings of the board of directors from seven (7) to five (5).
Motion 2: Amend the current CFF By-Laws to comply with the requirements of the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (“New Act”).
